Helicopter Refueling Systems

The ability to safely and efficiently refuel helicopters on the offshore drilling rig or production platform can significantly improve the overall safety of flight operations and permit heavier loads to be moved to and from shore bases as required. With the Helifuel® refueling system, a quantity of jet fuel is transported to the offshore facility in a special jet fuel transfer tank on a work boat during regular runs.

As drilling rigs and production platforms locate farther offshore or from land-based operations, return fuel becomes an increasingly larger percentage of helicopter lift capacity - at the rate of approximately 600 pounds for each 100 gallons of fuel. The Helifuel® Helicopter Refueling System permits the helicopter to utilize its lift capacity to transport real payload to and from the offshore helipad rather than use its lift capacity for carrying its return fuel supply. And when heavy seas prevent normal work boat operations, sufficient fuel is available on the drilling rig or platform to allow several helicopter refuelings without further jet fuel transfers by work boat.

Helifuel® stays updated and can make systems comply with any set of rules in the world.  If you want to move the system they incorporate the sum of different requirements to ensure full compliance with various geographic areas.

Systems available for immediate delivery:

A number of new and second hand units are in stock and available for immediate delivery (sale or rent).  For example:

• 2-10 transportable tanks (316SS, 2900L each) certified to DnV 2.7-1 (type approval).  These tanks meet CAP 437 and all class society requirements and the IMDG code.
• 1-2 laydown skids for transport tanks with deluge system.
• 1-2 pump units and dispensing units.
• Most spare and other helideck related equipment.

Should an engineered/custom unit be required, we would be able to deliver on very short notice.

Service engineers (4) for certification, maintenance and commissioning jobs worldwide.

• American Bureau of Shipping (ABS)
• Bureau Veritas (BV)
• Germanischer Lloyd (GL)
• Lloyd's Register of Shipping (LRS)

International Standards:

• All international standards with respect to best practices (eg API, IP, IMO, IMDG,...)
• Customers' internal safety and mechanical standards
• Internal rules set by production, exploration, or other marine companies, including the Navies (eg. NATO standards)

Engineering Companies:

• All documentation needs in both electronic and hard copy formats to ensure good working practices and compliance with rules.

Supporting Services:

• Certification - Systems are required to have periodical certification in or be be operational.  This certification assures that your system is in compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
• Maintenance/Upgrades - Periodical maintenance is required to ensure the delivery of 100% clean and water-free helicopter fuel at all times and to fulfill rules and regulations.  Our mobile workshops/parts stocks are available for major upgrades anywhere in the world.
• Parts - We keep an extensive stock of parts
• Courses - A system is a complex module which requires competent personnel.  To ensure safe operation we offer both operational and maintenance courses.
• Leasing - We have both complete units or parts (dispensing, pumping, deluge systems, 10/18/2007 11:55 AM etc) available for rent.
